Day 2: Cairo – Pyramids of Giza – Sphinx – Egyptian Museum to watch video In the morning, transfer to the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. After you have witnessed this impressive architecture, a visit to the Egyptian Museum is on the program, where numerous, very well-preserved mummies and other relics from the time of the Pharaohs can be visited. Then you will fly from Cairo to Luxor. Embarkation and overnight on the Nile ship. 3rd day of travel: Thebes West – Valley of the Kings – Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut – Colossal of Memnons – Karnak Temple – Luxor Temple to watch video A bus takes you from the Nile to the Valley of the Kings to Thebes West, where numerous pharaohs have embarked on their journey to eternity, including Tutankhamun. Some graves can be visited on this occasion. You can also take a look at the so-called “Guardians of Thebes West”, the Memnons Colossi. Following the Valley of the Kings, you can see the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir el-Bahari), which was laid out in terraces. Luxor and Karnak with their world-famous temples are the first stops on the Nile cruise. The Karnak Temple is all about Amun Re, which seems to be omnipresent around the impressive portico and the oversized pharaoh statues. Before returning to the ship, pay a visit to the Luxor Temple, which was built in honor of Amun, Mut and Chons. Lunch, dinner and overnight on the Nile ship. Day 4: Edfu – Kom Ombo On the way to Kom Ombo, the next stage of the Nile cruise is Edfu after breakfast. Another temple awaits you in Edfu, which is dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus and is still very well preserved despite its 2,000 years. In the evening you visit the double temple of the gods Sobek and Haroeris in Kom Ombo. Continuation to Aswan. Dinner and overnight on the Nile ship. Day 5: Aswan – dam – unfinished obelisk – Isis Temple of Philae (optional) After Kom Ombo, the Nile cruise in Aswan reaches its next high point. Day 8: Arrival in Luxor – Karnak Temple – Luxor Temple (optional) Today you arrive in Luxor with the Nile ship.
